Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, preparing journal entries, and assisting with audits and reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, a working knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries for recurring and non-recurring transactions
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements monthly
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain and organize financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Analyze and report on variances between actual and budgeted figures
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant local, state, and federal financial regulations
  • Participate in process improvements and special projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
    • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
    • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
    • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA candidate a plus
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
